About NBM Founder and Principal, Julia Vargiu

New business is a science for Julia Vargiu, founder of New Business Methodology and Australian Director of SI Partners.

A no-nonsense New Yorker now residing in Sydney, Julia is an international business growth consultant, masterclass facilitator, keynote speaker and mentor.

Over her 25-year career she has advised thousands of agency CEOs around the world on how to win more business from current and future clients – without relying on pitching.

Julia founded New Business Methodology in 1998 to work with leading agency CEOs, Managing Directors and Executive Managers to realise their growth ambitions.

The formation of NBM builds on Julia’s years in industry in marketing communications and advertising roles specialising in new business development and executive coaching. This depth of knowledge and years of global industry data enables her to transform an agency’s ability to achieve fast-paced profitable growth.

Julia is unique in her ability to coach CEOs and executive leaders to find their distinctive value and worth, important to themselves, and their C-suite executive colleagues and clients. She is a graduate of the Institute of Executive Coaching & Leadership. A sought-after, engaging speaker [speaking page link], Julia is a regular at Mumbrella360, The Source New Biz Brekkie Series, SAGE, PRIA RCG National Conferences and an Industry Hero for The Miami Ad School, Australia.

Julia has worked for the USA’s first and largest agency new business consultancy (Lemont Consulting Group), New York’s premier public relations services company (Bacon’s Information) and the national leader in executive search for the marketing communications industries (Howard Sloan Koller), she was also a guest speaker at the Graduate Schools of Journalism in Columbia and New York Universities.

In Australia, she was the first Marketing Manager for four of Sydney’s top agencies (TMP Worldwide, Ammirati Puris Lintas, Foote Cone & Belding and OMD) creating these roles after having identified the unmet need in the market.

Julia is a native of San Francisco’s Silicon Valley, alumni of Aiglon Collége Switzerland, danced regularly with RuPaul in Atlanta and, prior to moving to New York, ran away to become an actress. She toured nationally for three years, specialising in improvisational street theatre for themed Renaissance Festivals around North America.
